On March 29th at 7PM a team of Skaneateles High School girls will attend an event in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse to help raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. This specific relay event has been ranked #8 in the entire country. To participate in the event the girls will have to walk laps down on the turf in the Carrier Dome. At least 1 member of the team at a time must stay awake and be walking laps throughout the event, which takes place from 7PM until 7AM the following Sunday morning. This is to signify that Cancer is the disease that doesn’t sleep.
Look around town this month as the girls team organizes their fundraising efforts. Please support them in this endeavour! I don’t think there are many of us who haven’t been touched in one way or another by this terrible disease. In my family alone we have a Grandmother who survived Ovarian Cancer, a Father who died of Lung Cancer, and another Grandmother who survived Bone Cancer.

If it’s easier for you to donate online then PLEASE DO SO TODAY! Thank-you ![]()
