Swans at Skaneateles Suites

Several years ago we took some of the Suite Dreams Staff to Mexico for an incentive contest vacation. With us was Dwain, our Property Manager and ‘Fixit Guy’. Our hotel had these towel origami swans, and Dwain thought that was way cool. He tried to get the ‘girls’ to add this to our rooms, but they (the ‘girls’) all ducked and bobbed and weaved and, well, basically refused.
So Dwain got a book and got to work making swans and dogs and top-hats and more, basically shaming them (the ‘girls’). Today, Dwain still trains the new ‘Guest-Keepers’ (we don’t have ‘maids’) and occasionaly spot checks the rooms for Swan Origami Quality Control.

I talked to Dwain recently when coordinating a WiFi upgrade at SkaneatelesSuites and Dwain mentioned that he can tell at a quick glance which “girl” did any given Swan.
Chris and Blogger Wannbees:
Let’s have some fun with this one; cute topic about Swans and Guy jobs and Girl jobs. Why don’t you send a group mail to those at the Creekside Bloggers meeting, inviting all to write comments.
All who read this: Please submit your non-polically correct, sexist remarks about Dwain and his swans and his ‘girls’ at http://www.skaneatelessuites.com . Further, it will be good practice for all you blogger wannabees. (Be sure to plug yourself, your business and your website.)
By the way, Dwain is on vacation for a week. Why don’t we all surprise him by filling up his mailbox at dwain@isp.com with links to SkaneatelesTalk and Your posts about him.
Skaneateles Suites is the “Swam-i-gami” Capital of the Fingerlakes.
I beg to differ with Curtis on who gets credit for recreating the found Swan Art. It was I, Toni Feldmann, the big boss of Skaneateles Suites–who also happens to be a GIRL !
OK, now it sounds like everyone has a different story on these Swans and their great beginning. Dwain tells the story like this - he spent a long week-end and a couple of six-packs to figure out how to make them. Now he is the creator/judge & jury/ruler of the Swans at Skaneateles Suites. He tells it like he has a spiritual connection with each and every Swan and the ones where some of the girls get lazy during creation (and he knows who you are, and you know who you are) cry to him for proper attention.

Are we having fun yet. I hope Dwain enjoys all the fun we have had at his expense.
Well…. Deb and I are back from our trip. We drove down the east coast and back, site seeing and checking out different hotels, and how they do things.
We had a great time and saw some interesting places.
Deb and I found a new towel Origami at one of the places that we stayed at, and we are excited about showing everyone as soon as tomorrow when we get back to the Suites. The best thing about this one is that it is SOOOO easy to make, unlike some Origami.
Not many places take the time to do Origami for the guests, so it was a big deal to Deb and I when we saw it.
