Skaneateles teacher pleads guilty to relations with girl

Syracuse, NY - A teacher from Skaneateles plead guilty in Onondaga County Court today to engaging in an illegal relationship with an underaged girl.

William Milham pleaded guilty before Onondaga County Judge Joseph Fahey to a felony charge of third-degree criminal sex act in connection with the October 2002 incident.

Fahey promised Milham a sentence of no worse than shock probation, which would include 10 years probation and six months in jail. Sentencing is scheduled for May 22.

Defense lawyer Emil Rossi said Milham is giving up his teaching career as a result of today’s guilty plea.

In September, state police charged Milham, a Skaneateles High School social studies teacher, with having sexual contact with a student at the school back in 2002. The girl was younger than 17 at the time, troopers said.
