My husband and I have known Jack Reed for several years. I think we first met when he became a customer of ours while we were in the computer repair business. When we began website design work and were no longer repairing computers he was one of the very few people we still “helped out” from time to time. We just couldn’t say no to Jack. When our first daughter left the nest and headed off to college we shared stories of depression and household trauma that only another parent of an adult child can know. Jack’s heartache was as deep as ours.
This last winter my husband found Jack’s wife Patty on FaceBook while they were in Florida. Jack told him he had written a book. I went to the Creekside Bookstore the other day and bought a copy of Jack’s book. I’ve now been reading it for less than 24 hours and am 100 pages into it. I’m finding myself reminiscing of my High School Cross Country days. The book is so enjoyable in many ways. As a runner I totally get what he writes about and as a local resident and parent I appreciate his candor.
I’m looking forward to Jack’s talk about the book at Creekside on July 16th and may even have finished the book by then. Thanks for a great read Jack and best of luck with the book!!
