On Monday, June 11, 2012, ten young gentlemen convened for the first ever Ultimate KanJam game in Skaneateles, New York. Ultimate KanJam is essentially team handball played with a frisbee disc and uses a KanJam can for a goal. The game also owns the distinction of being featured in the first video of the sport on the internet.
The sport was incredibly popular with its players as they opted to play it three times before going home. The players included game organizer John Buterbaugh along with Ryan Sayko, Andrew Ebert, Mike Teixeira, Doug Pinckney, Griffin Walawender, Danny Stabile, and Johnny Marshall, all from Skaneateles. Two players visited from a good distance away — Nathan Trombley from Canandaigua and Tom Marzynski from Syracuse.
