A Weekend Retreat for Women

The many insights of Henri J. M. Nouwen in his story of homecoming, The Return of the Prodigal Son, will be reflected on and prayed with during this weekend retreat. You will be led into Rembrandt’s masterpiece, The Return of the Prodigal Son. You will have personal time to consider these questions as you gaze on this scene: Where are you, who are you and how are you in the setting? As you enter this weekend retreat, you are invited to rest in the presence of our loving, compassionate and forgiving God.

Give yourself the gift of a weekend of renewal and peace in a sacred space where you will be fed spiritually, physically and emotionally. Each retreat opens on Friday afternoon with dinner served at 6:00 and closes on Sunday morning by 11:00. Opportunities are offered for personal prayer, conferences, Mass.

By the Lake in Fall… A Day of Prayer and Reflection
Presented by Sister Pat Larkin, OSF, Co-Program Director for Stella Maris
We invite you to join us at the water’s edge for a day of prayer and reflection on the beauty of fall. Weather permitting; we will hold our opening prayer on the boathouse deck to let God speak to us through creation. We will have readings to use for private reflection and return to the retreat center at noon for lunch. The afternoon will give us more time to enjoy nature’s beauty before closing prayer at 2:30 at the boathouse. In case of rain, we will remain in the Retreat Center.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Beginning September 20

Presented by Sister Concetta Fabo, OSF, Co-Program Director for Stella Maris
The Prayer Shawl Ministry knitters and crocheters will gather once again from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the third Thursdays of each month from September through May. New members, experienced as well as inexperienced, are most welcome to join this group. We will begin a new year with a blessing ritual of hands, needles, yarn, knitting and crocheting patterns and other materials. A common project done for others will be chosen by the group. This past year, afghans, each one unique and beautifully made of red, white and blue yarn, were made for veterans at Veterans Hospital. Please join us with your talents, time and ideas for creating some morale boosters for some unsuspecting recipients-of your choice!
