With regard to the proposal of the Victory Sports Medicine’s 99.5 acre medical facility and adjoining 13 multi use sports fields, being located just outside the Village of Skaneateles, I would like to pose the following questions:
1 .If the Victory Sports Medicine’s Campus’s 13 Multi Use sports fields, which includes 4 artificial turf football fields, are going to be such a wonderful addition for the residents of Town of Skaneateles, then how come Victory Sports Medicine hasn’t made this widely known to them?
Why was the recent gathering for updates, information, and demonstrations, held by Victory Sports Medicine, an “invitation only” event and not open to the public?
2.The Skaneateles schools are on the record for not seeing a use for these additional fields due to declining enrollment and stated that they do not intend to use the fields. So who, specifically, is Victory Sports Medicine targeting to use these fields and, more directly, is Victory Sports Medicine intend to host tournaments?
3.How many years will the multi-phase construction of the Victory Sports Medicine’s medical and sports compound take, and during that construction how will Victory Sports Medicine address the problems of drainage, noise and run off ?
4.The “mitigation of noise” Victory Sports Medicine spoke of in the meeting; with regard to its stated need for multiple Public Address Systems; what is that mitigation, what are the details of its success, and how does Victory Sports Medicine plan to mitigate crowd and traffic noise?
5. In previous board meetings it was stated on the record that these fields are not for public access use, then it was remarked at the latest meeting that it is. Since this is a commercial venture, can we have a clarification from Victory Sports Medicine as to whether these fields are public access fields or not?
6.At the recent board meeting, the addition of fencing surrounding the compound was introduced. Are there any renderings showing this fencing, stating what type of fencing is going to be used, and whether or not it will require a variance?
7.Who are the potential undeclared/undisclosed tenants? Will they conflict with businesses that are already offered in the village and town such as shops and restaurants. This is a large facility so is a restaurant in the planning?
8. If the board does not grant the variance for multiple 70-90 foot special lighting poles on this coming Tuesday, October 23rd, at the Fire Department, what will be the next option for Victory Sports Medicine, and the Skaneateles Town Residents?
