“We’ve focused our ‘journey’ on various character education type issues,” said the busy middle school music teacher.  Important issues like “friendship, being thankful, taking care of each other and team effort,” Anna explained.

For weeks, dozens of young drama students have worked during non-school hours on the music, script and choreography involved in pulling off a big production.  Two different casts are rehearsing and will perform during separate performances.  There will be a senior citizen performance at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21.  Other shows will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23.  A Saturday matinee begins at 2 p.m.

Little Mermaid, Jr., is the story of the beautiful young mermaid Ariel, who longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But she has to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice.

Adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway production, Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.  features the hit songs “Part of Your World,” “She’s in Love,” and the Oscar-winning “Under the Sea.”
