Enjoy an unforgettable evening of lakeside dining and jazz under the stars, at the annual gala of the Skaneateles Area Arts Council (SKARTS).
Festivities will take place at the Stella Maris Retreat and Renewal Center, a former Roosevelt mansion on Skaneateles Lake, from 6 to 10 p.m. July 27. Dinner will be provided by Phoebe’s Restaurant and the Sherwood Inn; wine, by Anyela’s Vineyards; and desserts, by Joelle’s French Bistro and Rosalie’s Cucina. The concert starts at 8 p.m.
Now in their 35th year of performing together, guitarist Tuck Andress and vocalist Patti Cathcart are partners in life as well as on the stage. Patti is the writer, arranger and producer; Tuck provides the orchestration.
“I discovered Tuck & Patti more than 15 years ago through my good friend and well-known horn player Charlie Bertini,” says SKARTS president Holland Gregg. “I had never before heard this unique combination of warm, sultry vocals, as sung by Patti Cathcart, layered over such serious jazz guitar virtuosity as that of Tuck Andress.
“This will be an unforgettable treat. Tuck & Patti will blow the audience away,” Gregg says.
Their latest release, “I Remember You,” features love songs from the Great American Songbook—many of which will be performed at the gala.
Sponsors of the event are Anyela’s Vineyards, Auburn Party Rental, Patience Brewster & Holland Gregg III, Clear Channel Communications, Cowley Associates, Cumulus Broadcasting, Delmonico Insurance, Dermody Burke & Brown CPAs LLC, Fouad & Michael Dietz and Dietz Designs, Evan & Liz Dreyfuss, Dunk & Bright Furniture, Eagle Newspapers, Fleur de Lis Florist, Gilberti Stinziano Heintz & Smith PC and Hiscock & Barclay LLP.

Receiving grants this past spring were the Red House Arts Center, the Auburn Chamber Orchestra, the Skaneateles Community Band, MasterWorks Chorale and the Skaneateles Library Association.
Tickets are $125 for regular seating, $250 for VIP seating, and are available at skarts.org. Advance purchase is required.
