Ken BlanchardCreekside Books & Coffee, an independent bookstore and coffeehouse in Skaneateles, welcomes Ken Blanchard, author of The One Minute Entrepreneur, Thursday, August 7th at 6pm.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ken Blanchard is Chief Spiritual Officer of The Ken Blanchard Companies®, an international management training and consulting firm that he and his wife, Dr. Marjorie Blanchard, founded in 1979 in San Diego, California. He is also a visiting lecturer at his alma mater, Cornell University, where he is a trustee emeritus of the Board of Trustees. Creekside Books & Coffee, an independent bookstore and coffeehouse in Skaneateles, is pleased to host an offsite event Saturday July 26, 2008 at 1 PM at The Sherwood Inn, Skaneateles featuring Kirk W. House and Charles R. Mitchell authors of Finger Lakes and Watkins Glen Racing.  Racing is celebrating 60 years in Watkins Glen.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Kirk W. House, of Bath, is the former director-curator of the Glenn Curtiss Museum, is a member of the Schuyler County Historical Society and other historical groups.  Charles R. Mitchell, of Keuka Park, and formerly a professional photographer is curator of the Yates County Genealogical and Historical Society / Oliver House Museum.
Between them, they have written a dozen Arcadia Publishing books. Vintage images come from the archives of the county historical societies in Yates and Ontario Counties, the Curtiss Museum, the Steuben County historian’s office, private owners, and the authors’ personal collections.

ABOUT THE BOOKS
Finger Lakes: For more than a century, the natural scenic beauty of the Finger Lakes has drawn generations of tourists. The vineyards, glens, and steamers that made the region famous are displayed through the vintage images in this volume. These postcards capture the lively and dynamic atmosphere that has kept visitors flocking to the area for years, eager to mail a piece of their memories back home.

Watkins Glen Racing: Long ago, visitors reached Watkins Glen by railroad, steamboat, and horse-drawn wagon. Creekside Books & Coffee, an independent bookstore and coffeehouse in Skaneateles, welcomes award-winning author Laurie Halse Anderson on Saturday June 7, 2008 at 1pm featuring her Volunteer Vet Series.

About the Author

Born Laurie Beth Halse (rhymes with waltz. Not hal-see) on October 23, 1961 in Potsdam. As a teenager she most enjoyed science fiction and fantasy. She has lived on a pig farm in Denmark as an exchange student for thirteen months and proudly graduated from OCC and Georgetown University.

“It is an honor to host Laurie Halse Anderson,” says Erika Davis, owner of Creekside Books and Coffee. “The numerous awards she’s received truly reflect her ability to get inside the mind of young adults and middle readers. So well written are her novels, adults find them intriguing too.” (more…)

Joyce's ArkCreekside Books & Coffee, an independent bookstore and coffeehouse in Skaneateles, Welcomes Robert Molinari, author of Joyce’s Ark: On it’s Journey to the Rainbow Bridge Saturday May 31 at 1pm.

About the author

Robert Molinari is a retired development and public relations director for several major non-profit organizations, one of which was a zoo society. He is a nationally known development workshop trainer and motivational speaker who has lived with his wife, Joyce, on a 17-acre farm in upstate New York for the past 25 years. She is a retired middle school English teacher. For the past 35 years they have been the owners and caregivers for many animals and are currently very busy taking care of their present pets: three horses, two dogs, and a new kitten.
