Tops Markets of Buffalo will submit a bid in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del., for nearly all of P&C Foods parent The Penn Traffic Co.’s assets today or tomorrow, according to two union officials at a rally today.
Also check out syracuse.com’s P&C Data Center page here. This page provides information relating to specific stores, including not only the store’s “official status,” but also “other reports” relating to specific P&C branches. It even includes the status of the shelves for some branches (stocked/empty/etc). Very informative. For example, the “other reports” column for the Skaneateles branch reports:
“Customers are noting more empty shelf space as the bankruptcy case goes forward. More dead spots are being filled with Food Club store-brand items, replacing national brands. There are empty endcaps and impulse-buy bins. Store remains nice, but bankruptcy appears to be taking a toll on stock.”
